GFS Canada Impacts Local Students in Mexico

During their recent Winners Circle trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico GFS Canada decided for the second year in a row to contribute back to the local community by organizing a Humanitarian program called Feet First. They asked all the staff attending if they would bring a new pair of sneakers for elementary students along with them on the trip. And the response was overwhelming!

The sales reps who attended the trip donated over 70 pairs of sneakers and they presented the children not only with sneakers but with school supplies and special Maple Leaf pins. The principle of the school was given a new desktop printer to use for the school.

The children were transferred (courtesy of Meeting Incentive Experts) from their school, Primaria Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in Puerto Vallarta, to the resort via a motor coach. Upon arrival, the children were greeted with a standing ovation of applause and then were served a special breakfast (hosted by Dreams Puerto Vallarta resort).

The local media in Puerto Vallarta attended the event and printed a 2 page spread with pictures in the next day’s paper.

Sales reps had the opportunity to give their sneakers in person to the child who they had been pre-matched with. It was a really special moment for everyone in attendance to see how happy these children were to receive a new pair of sneakers. It turned into one of the highlights of the trip and will be on the agenda again for the next trip!
