GFS Canada Nears Completion on First Habitat House

Dec 20, 2011 – GFS Canada Company has raised over $159,000 for Habitat for Humanity Canada and has plans to build 2 more houses in Canada.  Through staff fundraising efforts over the past year, $109,000 was raised.  With matching funds from GFS Canada the total donated to Habitat for Humanity this year will be $159,000.

 “Staff from all of our offices across Canada have been working hard on fundraising projects and we are so happy that we have been able to raise this amount of money for Habitat” said Frank Geier, GFS Canada president.  “Our first house in Brampton, Ontario is almost finished and we look forward to being at the house dedication in the spring.”

 With continued fundraising events taking place in all the GFS Canada offices, there are plans in place for not just one house in 2012 but two houses to be built.  The next two houses that will be built are in the Calgary area and on Vancouver Island.

 With the fundraising efforts of all staff and the enthusiasm to take part in the building projects, GFS Canada is well on its way to completing the proposed 8 Habitat for Humanity houses across Canada.
